What is a Data Protection Technical Lead?
The Data Protection Technical Lead is a hands-on technical role responsible for ensuring that customer, employee, and user data is properly identified, secured, monitored, and protected across enterprise systems.
This role bridges the gap between Cyber Security, Technology, Legal, and Privacy, ensuring that data protection is embedded into systems and workflows—not just documented in policies. The position reports directly to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and works closely with cross-functional teams across Technology, Cyber Security, Digital Platforms, Product, Legal, and Compliance.

3–6 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Cyber Security

Prior experience in privacy or data protection roles is preferred but not mandatory. Strong technical fundamentals are essential.
Strong understanding of databases (SQL / NoSQL), APIs, and system integrations.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with privacy management tools is highly advantageous.
Exposure to DLP, DSPM, or similar privacy and data security tools is a plus.
Exposure to consent management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, Securiti).
