Job Overview

TeknoSys is seeking a detail-oriented Application Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. The role involves working closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to validate features, detect defects early, and support the delivery of stable and high-quality releases.

The position focuses on functional testing, test automation, API validation, and continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines, making quality assurance an integral part of the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for web, mobile, and backend applications.

• Validate new features and ensure existing functionality remains unaffected after updates.

Test Automation

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit/TestNG, or similar frameworks.

• Automate repetitive test cases to improve test coverage and efficiency.

• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.

API & Backend Testing

• Test RESTful APIs and backend services using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or REST Assured.

• Validate request/response flows, data integrity, and error handling.

• Perform database validation using SQL queries when required.

Performance & Reliability Testing

• Conduct basic performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with development teams to improve application responsiveness and stability.

Defect Management

• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools.

• Provide clear reproduction steps, logs, and impact analysis.

• Collaborate with developers to verify fixes and close defects.

Collaboration & DevOps Support

• Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and design discussions.

• Work with DevOps teams to enable automated testing in deployment pipelines.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation during releases.

Documentation & Quality Standards

• Maintain test documentation, reports, and coverage metrics.

• Contribute to improving QA processes, standards, and best practices.

• Promote a “shift-left” testing culture within the development team.

Continuous Learning

• Stay updated with emerging testing tools and automation technologies.

• Explore AI-driven testing tools and smart automation frameworks to enhance productivity.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 0–2 years of experience or internship in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.

Technical Skills

Testing & Automation

• Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools

• JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent frameworks

• Test case design and execution

Performance Testing

• JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools

API & QA Tools

• Postman, REST Assured, Swagger

• JIRA or other bug-tracking systems

Programming & Databases

• Basic knowledge of Java, Python, or JavaScript

• SQL for database validation
