Position Summary

NBP is hiring a Credit Analyst (OG-II / OG-I) to strengthen its SME Risk function. The selected candidate will evaluate credit proposals, assess borrower creditworthiness, identify financial risks, and support informed lending decisions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management policies.


Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or international university.
  • Candidates holding a Master's degree or relevant professional certifications will be preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of banking experience in:
    • Commercial Banking, or
    • SME Banking
  • Experience may be in Business Banking, Credit Risk, or Risk Management within a commercial bank.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Credit analysis and financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of SME financing products
  • Understanding of collateral evaluation and security assessment
  • Familiarity with SBP Prudential Regulations
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit proposals and financing requests.
  • Assess borrower creditworthiness using business cycles and cash flow analysis.
  • Identify potential credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with SBP regulations and internal credit policies.
  • Coordinate with business units to obtain information required for due diligence.
  • Conduct detailed credit analysis considering industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Evaluate client cash flows, liquidity, profitability, and balance sheet strength.
  • Perform ratio analysis and stress testing where required.
  • Assess reputational, climate, and sustainability-related risks.
  • Review collateral documentation, security assessments, and search reports.
  • Prepare recommendations for credit approvals.
  • Perform portfolio analysis and reporting.
  • Assist during internal and external audits.
  • Carry out additional assignments as directed by management.

Employment Details

  • Contract duration: 3 Years
  • Contract may be renewed based on management discretion and performance.
