As part of its continued growth and progression strategy, BOP is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and performance-driven professional for its Litigation Division within the Legal Group.

Job Purpose

The Senior Officer Litigation – North will be responsible for effectively managing the Bank’s litigation portfolio, protecting its legal interests, handling court proceedings, and providing legal support across relevant business and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and handle the Bank’s litigation portfolio to protect its rights and legal interests.
• Review and vet plaints, suits, petitions, replications, writ petitions, appeals, representations, and other legal documents.
• Handle the Bank’s matters before courts and judicial or quasi-judicial forums.
• Provide legal support in settlement and compromise agreements within the applicable legal framework.
• Provide legal assistance to SAM, Operations, and other relevant functions in contentious matters.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels to ensure proper representation and protection of the Bank’s interests.
• Liaise with Business Units and Relationship Managers to ensure timely provision of information, documents, and instructions to external counsel.
• Attend important proceedings before subordinate and superior courts and other judicial or quasi-judicial forums.
• Prepare case briefs and support effective case management.
• Assist the MIS team in improving and maintaining litigation portfolio reporting and records.
• Provide assistance to the Chief Legal Officer, Head of Litigation, and management in day-to-day legal matters.
• Monitor ongoing litigation and ensure timely follow-up on court proceedings and related legal matters.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Minimum LLB or relevant degree from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university/institute.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of banking laws is required.

Age Limit

• Maximum 50 years as of the date of application.
