Job Description

Farmers Development Organization (FDO) is seeking a qualified and experienced Software Developer / Programmer specializing in PHP to join its Islamic Microfinance Program. The selected candidate will develop and maintain web applications, manage databases, integrate APIs, and support technology systems.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BSCS), Software Engineering (BSSE), Information Technology (BSIT), or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of proven professional experience in web application development.

  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP and relational databases.

Required Skills

  • PHP Development: Core PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and modern PHP MVC frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Symfony.

  • Database Management: MySQL/MariaDB, complex SQL queries, performance tuning, indexing, and data normalization.

  • Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, and JSON/XML processing.

  • API & Integrations: RESTful/SOAP API development and integration with payment systems, SMS providers, and financial or regulatory portals.

  • Tools & Server Management: Git/GitHub/GitLab and deployment on Apache/Nginx web servers in Linux and/or Windows environments.

  • Domain Advantage: Experience with microfinance systems, financial technology platforms, ERP systems, or donor-funded project MIS will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve web applications.

  • Design and manage relational databases.

  • Build and integrate APIs with external services.

  • Optimize application performance and database queries.

  • Manage code repositories and application deployments.

  • Support financial technology systems and organizational information management platforms.

Contract Duration

One (1) year, extendable subject to performance and organizational requirements.
