Senior Officer – Shariah Compliance

Education Required

Graduation in Finance or a related field, preferably with Shahadat-ul-Aalimiyyah (Dars-e-Nizami).

Experience Required

Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in Shariah Compliance, Internal Shariah Audit, or Product Development departments.

Required Skills

• Certification in Islamic Banking will be an added advantage.

• Understanding of compliance mechanisms and audit methodologies.

• Strong reviewing and research skills.

• Ability to conduct staff training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shariah Compliance Reviews

• Conduct Shariah compliance reviews of Corporate, SME, and Agri financing transactions at the renewal stage.

• Evaluate Transaction Fact Sheets (TFS) and resolve related queries.

2. RCSA & SNCR Management

• Maintain the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) database and Shariah Non-Compliance Risk (SNCR) records for banking products and services.

• Document actual or potential income losses and report associated risks.

3. Controls & Checklists

• Identify gaps in documentation and SNCR entries.

• Assist in developing checklists and controls to mitigate Shariah compliance risks.

4. Branch Reviews & Assessments

• Coordinate branch Shariah audits and assess staff understanding of product structures.

• Prepare structured reports documenting audit findings.

5. Training & Awareness

• Conduct assigned Shariah awareness and training sessions for bank staff.

6. MIS & Coordination

• Maintain task-related Management Information System (MIS) records.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
